TWO MAJOR CHANGES for 2010:
-
INDIVIDUAL RACES— UNCREWED OPTION UNVEILED!
-
NEW TEAM REGISTRATION PROCESS— TEAM CAPTAIN BASED
100 MILE AND 50 MILE INDIVIDUAL RACES, INCLUDING NEW UNCREWED OPTION
Runners in the individual 100 and 50 mile races may elect to run without a support crew. Details, notes of caution and recommendations may be found in these website pages: Tips on Running Ultras, Race Rules and Race Facts & FAQ. Whether running with a support crew or not, each individual racer must register online or by completing the manual form, Individual & Team Runner Race Entry/Waiver Form.
TEAM CAPTAIN BASED REGISTRATION FOR RELAY EVENT
The Team Captain is responsible for creating and registering the team either online or by completing the Team Captain's Race Entry/Waiver Form, and submitting the appropriate team entry fee in full. The entry fee schedule is posted below. Please note that “registering a new team” means that the Captain has completed the Team Captain registration form (manually or online), which includes naming the team, indicating the competition category and registering himself or herself as a member of that team. Mail manual entries to: KEYS100, c/o UltraSports LLC, P.O. Box 2065, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33303.
The captain and his or her team are responsible for their own internal collection of the team race entry fee for the event and for being certain that all members of the team have completed the process so that they are properly registered for the race.
Team Member: Each individual runner must still register separately as a member of a team, either online or by using the Individual & Team Runner Race Entry/Waiver Form. When using the manual form, it must be completed in full, signed and mailed to the address on the form.
Substitution of registered team members is permitted; instructions will be sent to registered team captains. Substitute runners must also complete the online registration process or the manual race entry form. Any team changes made after March 15 will be subject to a $15.00 charge for each change made.
NOTE TO CAPTAINS: TEAM VOLUNTEER–NEW REQUIREMENT:
Each team with one or more team members residing within 50 miles of any point along the course must provide a minimum of one race volunteer, to be available on race weekend for a minimum of four (4) hours. Multiple volunteers may cover that time commitment. Volunteer name(s) and contact information (phone number and email address) must be provided with team registration. All volunteers must also register individually by completing and submitting the Volunteer & Crew Race Participation/Waiver form either online or by downloading and completing the manual form.
ALL CREW MEMBERS AND RACE VOLUNTEERS:
Each race volunteer, including support crew members, must complete a Volunteer & Crew Race Participation/Waiver form individually, either online or by downloading and completing the manual form.

PROSTATE CANCER FUNDRAISING OPTION TO HAVE REGISTRATION FEE WAIVED:
Racing the Keys is a lot of fun, but the cause of beating prostate cancer is as serious as it gets and is a primary goal of the KEYS100. In that spirit, any runner (or team) who delivers paid donations to The Richard J. Fox Foundation in an amount at least equal to four (4) times the applicable registration fee will have his/her/their registration fee waived. For example: a 50-mile runner who delivers $680 in charitable donations prior to May 1 (that’s 4 times the $170 registration fee applicable for that time period) will have the race registration fee waived in full. Racers who raise four times the registration fee in charitable donations after registering and paying the registration fee, but prior to race day, will have the registration fee refunded.
